Right to Read Night – October 10, 2025

Pendleton Yoga Center and Pendleton Area Advocates for Intellectual Freedom (PAAIF) participated in the National Coalition Against Censorship’s 2025 Right to Read Night. Cassie Owens Moore, librarian at Seneca Middle School, led the discussion of the award-winning novel, Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson. Thank you to everyone for making this such a fun and thought-provoking event!

She spends most of her time advocating locally and at state level on issues related to censorship, public education, and LGBTQ+ rights. Recently she was named ACLU of South Carolina’s Advocate of the Year.
